The bench headed by the Chief Justice of India Justice DY Chandrachud said that the courts cannot mark the appearance of an advocate who has not appeared in the case.

One lawyer insisting Justice to include the name of an advocate in the order as having appeared in the matter.

CJI while refusing, stated that he remembers who had appeared in the matter and the court was not sitting to generate revenue for the lawyers.

Justice said “Sorry Ma’am. I remember who appeared in the matter. We are not sitting here to generate revenue for the lawyers. Sorry. We will not do it”.
