The Supreme Court of India assured that it will list the case concerning whether the marital rapeshould be treated as a criminal offence or not.

The matter which is pertaining to the marital rape was mentioned before the bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Manoj Misra.

Advocate appearing for the petitioner submitted that the point in the marital rape case was very short and  provision provides that the charges of rape cannot be attracted against a man who has non-consensual sex with his wife. 

By responding the same, the bench agreed to list the matter.
