The single bench of Justice CS Dias of Kerala High Court granted bail to a woman who is accused of throwing her new born baby from the balcony of her apartment. The incident led to the unfortunate demise of the newborn.

The woman unexpectedly gave birth to a child in her bathroom on May 3 without the knowledge of anyone. Following the discovery of a plastic bag containing the deceased newborn by passersby on the morning of May 3, the 23-year-old woman was apprehended. Law enforcement officers managed to identify her by scanning the barcode on the plastic bag, which originated from an online shopping platform.

Allegedly, the woman disclosed to the police that she attempted to strangle the infant and had initially intended to dispose of the body elsewhere. However, in a sudden turn of events, she discarded the baby off her balcony when her mother, unaware of her daughter’s pregnancy or the subsequent birth, unexpectedly arrived at the door.

Authorities are currently anticipating a comprehensive report on the incident.
