The family court of Jaipur had asked the husband to pay monthly maintenance of Rs 22,500 to his wife after finding that his monthly salary is around Rs 89,000 and he had taken the iPhone on the loan to maintain his status.

Justice said that if he can take an iPhone to maintain his status, then the wife should also be given the amount of maintenance.

The petition was filed by the wife seeking maintenance from her husband as they both were living separately as disputes arose between them since 2021.

The husband submitted that his financial condition is not good and he has taken iPhone and Rs 15 lakhs on loan, hence he cannot pay maintenance to his wife.

After which the bench asked the bank details of the husband. However, he did not submitted any bank details before the court.

It came to be noted by the bench that the husband is on the post of Nursing officer in Delhi and he is earning monthly salary of Rs 89,000. Despite of this, he was hesitating to give the maintenance to his wife.

While ordering the husband to pay the maintenance of Rs 22,500 to his wife, justice said that if husband can take an iPhone to maintain his status, then wife should also be given the amount of maintenance.
