Teacher Asking Students To Slap Their Muslim Classmate: NHRC Takes Suto Moto Against The Teacher

The teacher named Tripta Tyagi from the city of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh ordered her students to slap his classmate (Muslim boy), after which the National Human Rights Commission took suo moto cognizance against the teacher. 

A video of allegedly incident went viral, in which she can be heard ordering the student to slap the Muslim boy his body instead of his face.

“Abki baar kamar pe maaro… chalo… muh pe na maaro ab muh laal ho raha hai… kamar pe maaro saare”, “Kya tum maar rahe ho? Zor se maaro na”.

The FIR is registered in said matter, NHRC has sought details of action taken against the teacher.

The NHRC has observed that “The teacher, who also owns the school, has not been arrested yet. The school does not meet the criteria of the Education Department. The boy’s family has already taken him out of the school and is looking for a new school”.

The father of the victim told to the reports that he will take his son out of the school and also not going to file complaint against her.  “I will not send my child to that school again and they will return the fee that I have submitted. A settlement has been reached that no complaint would be filed. The teacher has created animosity between the children”.

Dr Ravi Shankar officer of Khatauli circle said that “Tripta Tyagi is the head of the school,” and that they are trying to “convince the child’s father to file a complaint; after that we would be able to file an FIR. Further legal action is being taken”.

Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a post criticised the teacher’s actions and said, “Sowing the poison of discrimination in the minds of innocent children, turning a holy place like a school into a marketplace of hatred — nothing worse a teacher can do for the country.”

NHRC has observed that the said action by the teacher is amount to a violation of the victim’s human rights and issued notices to the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh calling for a detailed report on the matter within four weeks.
